What you will do:

The Pratt & Whitney Production Chief Military Engines Organization is seeking a Technical Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to be responsible for leading the process development of cold start part manufacturing, qualification, and production rate readiness within the supply base to fulfill spares contracts for our customers.

This position requires extremely close collaboration with both internal discipline groups and external suppliers to maintain industrial timeline and commit integrity. Preferred candidate should have manufacturing/industrial engineering and project management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed Industrial Plans, Qualification Plans, Resource Plans, and project documentation as specifically required for each cold start part.

  • Align internal and external resources to mitigate part manufacturing risks and processing capability issues at the selected suppliers; promote the use of data driven root cause and corrective action tool usage to support the trouble shooting, production, and quality integrity of cold start parts.

  • Take accountability and ownership of the assigned cold start parts to understand and navigate around supply chain challenges to meet deliverables; hold and participate in regularly scheduled supplier meetings (both virtual and on-site), business stakeholder meetings, and update on cold start project status to both internal management and customers. Maintain industrial project plan integrity in accordance with TPM (Technical Project Manager) Standard Work.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships that build cooperation and trust with team and suppliers.

  • Apply project management skills and techniques, e.g. team collaboration, risk management, multi-tasking, and financial awareness; apply lean process improvement skills and techniques, e.g. value stream mapping, process analysis, standard work, and benchmarking.

  • Up to 20% travel may be required to the supply base.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management, quality or supply chain environment or a Master's degree and 3 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management, quality or supply chain environment

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Project Manager or demonstrated experience in planning and execution of initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) 9100

  • Familiarity with Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirements

  • Experience with the practical application of Lean Principles and Six Sigma are a plus.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders in order to determine acceptable solutions that adhere to best practices, policies, and procedures.

This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
