  • Pratt & Whitney Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engines.

  • The EDSI organization is responsible for the integration of components, modules and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems. This includes engine performance, operability, system level modeling and simulation, validation and verification of performance and operability requirements, and functional engine and air vehicle systems integration. EDSI also defines engine architecture, system and structural design as well as manages all requirements across the program.

  • The 30K GTFA (Geared Turbo Fan Advantage) program offers an exciting array of challenges as the program matures through IPD Phase 4 (Verification & Validation). The goal for the GTFA program is to reduce fuel burn & system temperatures while increasing engine removal interval, time on wing, part durability and hardware life for life limited parts.

What You Will Do

  • Stretch your capabilities and enhance learning with frontline, hands-on assignments

  • Relocate to different RTX cities/states while in program to broaden your exposure to the business and further develop your leadership and functional skills and business acumen

  • Strengthen technical, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills when you join the 30K GTFA EDSI Systems Analysis (SA) team supporting the program during engine / aircraft certification and entry into service.

  • Opportunities include learning engine system performance and operability and will provide exposure to engine performance modeling, data analysis and engine test coverage including ground, flight, and customer compliance campaigns.

  • This position will also provide opportunity to interface with and work across multiple engineering organizations and will provide direct interface with customer technical teams.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Engineering: Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or other related discipline; degree must be obtained between December 2024 - May 30, 2025

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, communication, interpersonal & analytical skills

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Engineering Degree with a concentration or focus in Applied Thermodynamics, Compressible Flow, Heat Transfer, and/or Turbomachinery Components

  • Relevant internship/co-op experience

  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
