• Pratt & Whitney's Advanced Concepts group is responsible for evaluating and exploring new aircraft engine concepts, architectures and technologies. In this group you will discover and develop new concepts for commercial engines to enable sustainable and zero-carbon flight and advanced military propulsion concepts that enable new war-fighting paradigms.

• This position provides the flexibility to work across commercial and military organizations and make novel discoveries to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

What You Will Do

• Stretch your capabilities and enhance learning with frontline, hands-on assignments

• Relocate to different RTX cities/states while in program to broaden your exposure to the business and further develop your leadership and functional skills and business acumen

• Originate and evaluate propulsion concepts where thermodynamic cycles work in concert with hybrid electric and aircraft elements to meet key requirements.

• Coordinate with various Pratt & Whitney engineering disciplines, Collins Aerospace, RTRC and global partners to assess the viability of concepts and components.  

• Support a diverse team of experts in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, design and durability.

• Summarize design and analysis results for leadership and external customer briefings.

• Conduct assessments of energy cost and investment needs

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Engineering: Aerospace, Mechanical; degree must be obtained between December 2024 - May 30, 2025

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

• Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with aircraft propulsion and gas turbines

• Experience in Thermodynamic cycle analysis, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Aerodynamics, Data analytics, or Project engineering

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
