Position Summary:

The MBD East Grinstead site is the only manufacture of the Sensititre product range, which includes antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) products. Our AST devices globally to determine which antibiotics a particular bacterium is sensitive or resistant to and to ensure patients are on the most appropriate treatment. The Sensititre products are used worldwide in Clinical, Pharmaceutical and Veterinary settings.

The function of the Quality Control team is to ensure that all medical devices manufactured on site are fit for purpose, this includes testing of the raw materials and final product. Headed by the QC Manager, the team is diverse and structured of a QC Specialist, Senior Technicians, Quality Control Technicians and a Lab Assistant.

This is a 12 months contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for testing all types of Sensititre final products and raw materials.

  • Preparing and culturing microorganisms for testing.

  • Planning day-to-day activities and ensuring that all deadlines are met on time and in full (LOTIF)

  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Control Worksheets and ensuring they are adequately maintained.

  • Responsible for contamination control within the manufacturing facilities.

  • QC Technicians are be responsible for completing out of specification/non-conformity reports and concessions;

  • Contributing to the general laboratory upkeep, including calibration of equipment and maintaining lab stock.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BSc in an appropriate science or proven experience.

  • Be skilled at prioritizing your time and duties to guarantee deadlines and lead time are met.

  • With excellent attention to detail, you are able to follow procedures to ensure an optimum result.

  • You can communicate efficiently with a range of people whilst adapting your style to foster effective collaboration.
