Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Senior IT SAP Engineer in East Chicago, Indiana

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Senior SAP Engineer. As a Senior SAP Engineer at Cleveland-Cliffs, you will be part of a team providing support for the SAP production environment as well as participating in strategic projects as needed. Your contributions in supporting the order management processes are vital as this is both a business analysis and systems support role, and you will work under minimal supervision to lead the build efforts for enhancements. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on, fast-paced collaborative environments, and is willing to seize opportunities to develop themselves, especially into leadership roles.

Summary of Responsibilities :

  • Be a Functional Leader to manage the production environment for SAP modules employed in the order to cash process.

  • Responsible for the SAP design of the OTC modules by having a good end-to-end knowledge of the business process and how the legacy applications fit in with SAP.

  • Ensure sustainability of the sap processes configured in these modules.

  • Ensure knowledge of SAP OTC is current by staying up to date within these areas.

  • Ensure all production documentation is up to date including functional specifications and test cases.

  • Ensure all new developments conform to SAP standards.

  • Train end users by conducting knowledge sessions and assisting with user documentation.

  • Ensure the modules (SD, Integration points with SD like MM, FI) are aligned with the SAP road map.

  • Hands on designing, specifying, configuring to moving changes to production.

  • Must be able to act as a liaison with Business users to gather requirements, design, and deliver technical solutions related to SAP S/4 for Sales and Distribution in relation to Order Management, Pricing, VC and EDI.

  • Work with the technical team in the designing and development of workflows, reports, interfaces, data conversions, enhancements, and forms (WRICEF). In conjunction with team members, validate the business design with the users and execute system unit and integration testing.

  • Coordinate ongoing communication and support with business users for Commercial area.

  • Project management

  • Capable of providing overall leadership to others on larger change requests or projects impacting many SAP disciplines.

  • Ability to break up larger change requests or projects into appropriate workstreams and provide guidance and support to Project Managers on estimates and plans.

  • Work with the business to identify and assist in addressing change management items.

  • Develop all standard documentation for project deliverables.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Working and coordinating with other IT teams (non-SAP)

  • Integrating SAP with other integration tools – IBM WebSphere

  • Gain SAP knowledge using SAP trainings, conferences, and local forums.

  • Understand the overall SAP direction.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

  • 5 years SAP SD and working knowledge in other integrated modules like MM, FI-AR

  • Experience in a full project lifecycle end to end

  • Strong exposure to EDI’s (850, 855, 810, 830 etc.,).

  • Knowledge of RFC’s, BAPI’s, BADI’s, BDC’s, User Exits, and enhancement points.

  • Strong knowledge of outbound/inbound ABAP interfaces using IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, and flat files.

  • Broad technical knowledge - including all key SAP functionality and technology.

  • Expert in IDOC enhancements.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Manufacturing or Steel experience

  • IBM WebSphere Middleware exposure

  • CDS views, BOPF, OData

  • ABAP debugging skills.

  • Fiori knowledge

  • BRF+ knowledge

  • Cloud experience in Cloud for customer CRM (C4C)

  • Good understanding about GATP and AATP concepts.

  • SAP HANA 2021 on premise experience

  • O365 Microsoft tools

  • Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills

  • Experience with ITIL concepts and processes.
