TheBike Park Patrollerprovides care to sick and injured guests or employees at Burke Mountain and gets them to more definitive care, if needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES(include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Maintains friendly, courteous and polite personal contact with all of Burke Mountains guest; injured or not.
- Provides critical rescue thinking and strong communication skills both with other patrollers, other mountain employees, EMS services and general public.
- Fills out post-injury reports in the patroller log book in less than 48 hours from injury.
- Follows up on accidents that warrant an accident investigation.
- Rides, walks, runs and drives a 4-wheeler as a requirement of the job on a daily basis.
- Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related or unrelated to original position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Drivers License and be eligible for Burke Mountain Resorts Motor Vehicle Insurance policy. Must participate in ongoing training through the season and possess a current Outdoor Emergency Care with proof of a refresher in the past 12 months.
