Ecolab Inc Senior Mechanical Engineer in Eagan, Minnesota

The individual will join the Institutional Digital & Equipment Innovation team of Ecolab RD&E. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will possess the ability to collaborate closely with internal and external divisional customers to define product requirements, budget, resource needs, timing estimates, and subsequently lead cross-functional engineering teams in design, validation and commercialization of hardware, software, and digital solutions that drive divisional program launches through effective team leadership, use of project management tools, communication, organization, and timeline management. What you will do: Support new and exciting dispensing equipment and digital product development projects to deliver high-impact customer and business outcomes. Participate in innovation sessions to identify customer needs and technical design requirements from customers, market leaders, application experts, and program data sources. Effectively apply project management tools to drive timelines, clarify responsibilities, mitigate risks, and communicate progress. Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge and learning agility to balance development needs of hardware, software, regulatory, data security, manufacturing, component supply, etc. Drive and contribute to forward-looking analysis of new and existing data sources to deliver high-impact customer and business outcomes. Define and execute laboratory and field-testing plans to ensure product performance and quality goals are met. Ability to drive projects independently and energize and empower teams to deliver results. Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-divisional teams and embody a collaborative, solution-focused, problem-solving attitude. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or other related technical discipline including Mechanical, Electrical Engineering. Bachelor's degree, plus 2 years R&D, or industry experience or Master's degree, plus 1 years R&D, or industry experience Experience managing product development from concept to commercialization. Applied experience using common project management tools. Immigration Sponsorship not available for this role Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with or experience in: Project Management and/or Equipment Development Commercialization Interest in the digital enablement of equipment through Internet or Things (IOT) Chemical dilution equipment, control system and/or sensor design Mechanical and Electrical design processes and/or tools Effective communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independentlyand as a member of a multi-disciplinary team while managing multiple tasks and/or projects.
