Lockheed Martin Research Engineering Intern in Eagan, Minnesota

Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) is the advanced computing asset of Lockheed Martin Corporation – a global enterprise with core businesses in systems integration, space, aeronautics, and technology services. The mission at the Advanced Technology Laboratories is to enhance the Corporation’s competitive edge. We are a group of professionals who develop and apply “cutting edge” technologies. We perform applied research in advanced signal processing, physics, acoustics and optical, wireless and networking.

This assignment located in Eagan, MN involves modeling, simulation, design and testing of embedded systems.

The Research Engineering intern will partake in a small, focused development team in order to create real world

solutions using scientific first principals into

innovative designs for applied technologies.

Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, facility layout and organization, MATLAB, and/or electrical,

RF or optical design and simulation tools is

helpful. The selected intern must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. Hands on lab experience is preferred.

The intern would work on one or more of the

following topics:

* Embedded processing and algorithms

for military applications

* Lab testing and integration of high

performance ruggedized embedded systems

* Support modeling and simulation

efforts related to these systems

* Support for electrical, optical, and

design efforts

* Mechanical engineering support, including hardware assembly, parts list validation, and minor design work

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate should be currently pursuing a BS or

MS in electrical engineering, computer science,

physics (waves or electromagnetic), computer

engineering, mechanical engineering or a related a field

• Good team working and collaboration skills

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, optical,

and/or RF modeling/simulation design tools;

• Knowledge of MATLAB, C, C++ and/or Python preferred

• Previous internship(s)

• Experience with research at the university level

• Awareness and/or interest in customer mission areas: Electronic Warfare (EW), RF signal intercept, RF geolocation technologies, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Signal Intelligences (SIGINT)

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
