Infinite Health Collaborative (iHealth) Physical Therapist Assistant - Aquatic Therapy - Twin Cities Orthopedics in Eagan, Minnesota

Description The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist Physical Therapists with providing therapeutic healthcare services to patients. This position will include a determined combination of both land-based patient care and pool-based patient care activities. Full-time role, Monday - Friday, hours vary daily, 7am - 6pm, 20 hours a week in pool, 20 hours a week on land at our Eagan location. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions: Provides treatment to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist. Prepare and complete detailed and comprehensive daily notes that accurately reflect treatments provided and time spent providing care during appointments. Notify supervising Physical Therapist of any change in patient status or poor tolerance to treatment. Abide by TCO Aquatic therapy policy of patient recheck with primary PT after five sequential pool appointments or as needed. Perform timely, effective, and collaborative communication with the primary Physical Therapist. Use and set-up modalities including but not limited to Ultrasound, Laser, Traction, E-stim, Iontophoresis, and MedX, Vaso pneumatic devices, HydroWorx or other provided aquatic therapy equipment. Provide indicated therapeutic massage and other manual therapy treatments as established in the therapy plan of care. Observe patients and evaluate data on patient's progress. Instructs families and/or caregiver on maintenance programs as directed by the Physical Therapist Able to perform PTA duties and provide direct, in-water, 1:1 patient interaction during Aquatic Therapy appointments for half or whole day timeframes. Answer phones, order supplies, complete forms Any and all other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements: Associate degree from an accredited PTA program; or equivalent experience Currently licensed as Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of MN or state in which practicing Perform as Certified Pool Operator if assigned by clinic manager. (training and certification will be provided) Outpatient Orthopedic experience preferred. Essential Requirements: Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines. Complete job required training. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.) Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance. Work in the clinic, office, or surgery center during business hours. Travel independently throughout the clinic, office, or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, stair climbing, ducking, working in narrow and wet areas, standing, or sitting for long periods of time may be required. Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines. Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner. Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations. Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Understand and execute a variety of instructions. Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
