Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

Move parts or materials and load or unload parts and materials from containers or trucks using powered industrial equipment. Utilize sit-down forklift experience. Process and fill orders and pick parts, materials, equipment, and supplies. Report any defects or need for repairs. Ensure accuracy of orders against shipment documentation. Utilize computer systems to document the movement of materials. Perform housekeeping functions as required.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

  • Experience with inventory, picking, packing, and forklift operation.

  • Sit-down forklift experience.

  • Background in heavy industrial environments.

  • Experience loading/unloading trucks and general labor.

  • Experience with packaging and inventory control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Attention to detail.

  • Shipping experience.

  • Experience with larger products.

Work Environment

Our client currently has 120 employees and is rapidly expanding to add three total shifts. The facility is older and split into two separate buildings. It can be loud, dirty, and hot during warm weather, and cold during the winter months. You will work in specific departments with a supervisor and a set team. The facility includes large areas with CNC machinery, weld booths, and racking systems. Efforts are being made to upgrade the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.10 - $19.10/hr.
