Here’s the Gist:

The Senior Reliability Engineering Manager for SiC Power Devices will lead a team of reliability engineers, reporting into the Reliability & Failure Analysis Department, General R&D.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Support outstanding customer service by urgently responding to reliability and quality concerns and questions and bolstering customer confidence, through ongoing collaborative relationships, online presentations, in-person visits, reliability reports, mission profile computations and reliability collateral.
  • Manage a team of early- to senior-level reliability engineers, leading through proactive management of the team as well as high-level reliability engineering "leading by example." Grow the team to scale with the growing Wolfspeed business.
  • Support critical Wolfspeed business functions such as new technology/product introduction, process change management (PCRB), material quality control (MRB), R&D and competitive analysis, through reliability science, lifetime and failure rate/fraction prediction, failure mechanism fundamental understanding and defect science and characterization
  • Support growth of Wolfspeed prominence in the SiC power device community through conference participation, peer-reviewed journal publications and participation in industry consortia standards organizations such as JEDEC, AEC and AQG
  • Collaborate with organizations across Wolfspeed including the reliability and failure analysis laboratories organization to strategize on equipment capability and capacity, manage reliability lab priorities and continually ensure the quality and accuracy of data and reliability stress conditions; the Power device R&D organization on developing mutual understanding of failure mechanisms, new design reliability aspects and continual improvement of epi and wafer process; the Quality organization on critical issues; and the General R&D organization on advanced reliability, quality and yield enhancement programs.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or similar discipline
  • 5 years' experience in the SiC or similar power semiconductor device industry, in reliability or device engineering or similar discipline
  • 5 years of experience in managing and lead a team
  • Expertise in SiC power semiconductor device technology, function, wafer processing, failure mechanisms, failure analysis and applications
  • Expertise in semiconductor reliability methodologies including accelerated life testing; life data analysis such as maximum likelihood estimation, right-censoring and Weibull statistics; power semiconductor industry qualification standards such as JEDEC, AEC and/or AQG; statistical analysis software such as JMP, Minitab, Reliasoft or equivalent
