IBM SaaS Product Manager in Durham, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an Offering Manager to be at the forefront of new research offerings. We are looking for a dynamic individual who demonstrably understands the fundamentals of AI, Hybrid cloud and who has shown evidence, through academic accomplishments and work experience, in technology management or entrepreneurism -- i.e., we are looking for an aspiring "technopreneur." The ideal candidate has a combined background in science/engineering and business. Successful candidates will possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, a user-centric viewpoint, the drive to maximize market opportunities by designing and developing new offerings and capabilities.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Evolve Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based Business models for offerings. Drive wider Adoption for all offerings.

  • Install and deploy Research (pre-commercial) offerings and develop it into a demonstration that could be exhibited to a client relevant to one of the industry use-cases above using publicly available data

  • Assimilate information about a portfolio of existing and in-process pre-commercial client offerings.

  • Understand the market requirements for such offerings and where such demands reside.

  • Interact and assist researchers to progress their offering on issues related to export control, certificates of originality, patents, copyrights, contract compliance, technical readiness, client readiness, collateral.

  • Identify and develop enterprise use-cases that could leverage one or more of these offerings and develop industry narratives using story-telling as told through collateral, whitepapers, and media presentations. Present the output to IBM researchers, Business Development Executives and intellectual Property management.

  • Determine pricing, marketing communication strategy, identify routes to market, and be responsible for enabling the channels on new and existing offerings.

  • Act as an entrepreneur, strategist, cross-functional team leader, and client advocate.

  • Document key lessons learned, developments and recommendations for future work.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge and experience with SaaS business models.

  • Knowledge/ Experience in the software and technology industry.

  • Working knowledge of AI and Cloud technology.

  • Experienced knowledge in software technology marketing and management.

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years experience in an entrepreneurial environment.

  • At least 5 years of client facing experience.

  • At least 5-7 years experience in software and technology product management.

  • Proven experience bringing new solutions or offerings to market.

  • Hands on development experience or computer science/engineering related degree or background.

  • Strategic and creative thinker.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working collaboratively.
