Actalent Phlebotomist in Durham, North Carolina

Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced phlebotomist to join our team at a 400-bed regional hospital. You will be an integral part of our inpatient phlebotomy team, focusing solely on drawing blood from patients across various age groups, excluding nursery and pediatrics. This is a 3-month contract position with the opportunity to apply for permanent vacancies.

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood from 35+ patients per day across various age groups, excluding nursery and pediatrics

  • Ensure excellent bedside manner and patient feedback

  • Maintain speed and efficiency in drawing blood, meeting the expectation of 35 samples per shift

  • Focus solely on drawing blood with no sample processing required

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a phlebotomist in an inpatient (non-clinic) environment

  • Experience with EPIC is highly preferred

  • Proficiency in Cerner or Meditech software required if not experienced with EPIC

  • AHA BLS certification is required

Work Environment

This position is based in a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment. You will work Monday through Friday from 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with no weekend shifts required unless transitioning to a permanent role. The role is onsite, and interviews will be conducted via Zoom.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.72 - $22.87/hr.
