Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician operates as a member of the Maintenance Group. This position will have the opportunity to work within a world class manufacturing company, in a 24/7 industrial manufacturing environment, and be responsible for collaborating as a part of the Reliability Engineering & Maintenance team to prevent failures, improve performance, and maintain the plant and physical facilities. This job represents an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and talented maintenance professional who wants to engage and expand their knowledge in assessing, maintaining, and improving industrial manufacturing equipment, and to shape the continued development of large, coordinated process equipment. The maintenance group is looking for team members who are entry level but have some technical training in predictive and preventive maintenance with a desire to continue to grow and would be active in pursuing development within the organization both in education and increasing roles and responsibilities in project execution and ownership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled maintenance support to proactively identify and prevent failure points in operations equipment by interpreting operator feedback, understanding machine status indications and functions, and recommending action.

  • Contribute to improving our maintenance management system through Root Cause Analysis and resolving errors that occur with a preventive mindset.

  • Collaborate as a multidisciplinary team member with electrical, process, and reliability colleagues to prioritize tasks and investments to meet operational needs and initiatives for an assigned area of the plant.

  • Support and engage in our ISO/TS quality management system by maintaining equipment to a high standard of care and contributing feedback to the maintenance management system to prevent any deviations in critical-to-quality processes.

  • Maintain, repair, and recommend upgrades for process equipment including blowers, compressors, extruders, heaters, dehumidifiers, web conveying, winding, and slitting.

  • Support maintaining plant utilities, including steam, compressed air, chilled water, cooling tower water, and associated equipment systems.

  • Assist engineering in the design, installation, start up, shut down, and planned maintenance of new or modified equipment in accordance with US and Freudenberg safety procedures and standards.

  • Supervise and/or assist contract personnel as needed to perform work safely and to the level of quality expected by Freudenberg.

  • Maintain high standards for workmanship and housekeeping before, during, and after work, and contribute to cleanliness and 5S adherence in shared areas.

  • Contribute to rotating on-call duties providing maintenance expertise and hands-on support when needed.

  • Provide skills training to other maintenance personnel to enhance equipment reliability and safety.

Qualifications:

  • A two-year technical degree in Industrial Systems or related field focusing on machine maintenance. Certificates in PLCs, Hydraulics, and/or Pneumatics are beneficial.

  • 3-5 years of technical support experience working in an industrial environment, prior experience in extrusion, plastics, and web handling or winding is a plus.

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System for preventive maintenance work tracking and corrective requests is preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of rotating equipment failure modes and maintenance techniques to identify, prevent and correct.

  • Experience and training in pipefitting, sheet metal fabrication and welding are preferred.

  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written, and ability to collaborate effectively with team members of varying levels of technical experience.

  • Ability to work overtime or non-regular hours when needed to support 24/7 operations. Must be able to assist in on-call rotation.

  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck and Arial Lift Equipment certifications on site.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
