City Of Durango Library Assistant-Youth Services in Durango, Colorado

Library Associate - Youth Services

Duties: Assist Library patrons by providing friendly and knowledgeable support.

Handle circulation tasks, including issuing library cards, checking materials in and out, inspecting returned items for damage, managing holds, generating notices, and processing payments for fines and fees.

Help patrons use library equipment, such as computers, printers, scanners, self-check stations, and photocopiers.

Guide patrons in using electronic resources, including the Library catalog, databases, and downloadable materials.

Sort and shelve Library materials as needed.

Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the Library and its collection.

Assist with program planning and implementation for children and teens, create displays, and be involved in essential support tasks that contribute to the overall success of our programs and services.

Support library operations and patrons of all ages in a variety of settings.

Requirements: Experience and dedication to delivering high-quality customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. An understanding of the role of the public library and youth programming and the ability to quickly learn library tasks.

Other Requirements: A high school diploma or GED.

Wage: $19.70 per hour

Shifts: This a full time position; Tuesday - Saturday Schedule
