Technical Program Manager
Unique opportunity to shape the delivery of innovative SaaS solutions and drive impactful results! Privately held Supply Chain and Logistics firm seeking an experienced and results-driven Technical Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of their Enterprise SaaS applications focused on Transportation and Logistics Management Systems (TMS). This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise, extensive program management experience, and a deep understanding of SaaS SDLC. You will oversee the planning, execution, and smooth deployment of software product releases while ensuring alignment with PMO processes, business priorities, customer needs, and organizational goals.
This is a 12 month contract working hybrid in the Dunwoody area.
Responsibilities
- Program Management and Delivery:
o Manage all aspects of a software product development program including directing the activities of Project Managers charged with executing subprojects under the program
o Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of complex technology projects within the SDLC, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality features and solutions
o Drive alignment of roadmaps while assessing, communicating, and mitigating risks and dependencies across delivery streams and portfolios
o Under the general direction of the PMO, create, manage, and complete a cross-functional program plan composed of sub projects, all to be successfully executed within costs, timelines, and quality by internal resources and third-party development resources
- Team Leadership:
o Coordinate with product management, release, IT, marketing, sales, and support teams to create a seamless transition from project initiation to implementation and support, including defining and controlling program and project scope and objectives
o Manage multiple onshore and offshore Agile development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
o Establish and build strong working relationships with senior leadership, stakeholders, and resource teams
- Metrics and Reporting:
o Demonstrate the progress of the roadmap, program, and projects, and effective use of resources through Earned Value and key delivery gates
o Use consistent metrics to assess risks, inform prioritization, and support decision-making processes
o Provide regular status reports, dashboards, and a regular cadence of meetings to stakeholders and resource teams
Qualifications:
8+ years of hands-on experience managing complex technology projects with multiple development teams on programs of $5M+ Strong technical background, preferably with prior experience in software engineering, DevOps, or IT project management
Deep understanding of the SDLC and Agile/Scrum
Highly organized with advanced problem-solving skills
Expertise w/ MS Office including Excel, Office, PowerPoint and Smartsheets including advanced reports and dashboards
Expertise at modeling project costs, capacity, hours consumed, budget and Project P/L (using Earned Value Concepts)
Experience managing on/offshore delivery models in Agile
Exceptional communication skills
Bachelor's Degree
PMI PMP or SAFe Certification+ or equivalent Project Management Certification
Bonus Points for:
Direct experience with TMS systems, intermodal transport, or Supply Chain Logistics
Experience in SW architecture, system integrations, and cloud-based applications within an enterprise SaaS solution
