ABOUT THE ROLE
Support the operating company by maximizing benefits associated with the strategic sourcing of a portfolio of commodities with a focus in Raw Materials. This is a developmental, strategic role that will be responsible for delivering optimal cost and efficiencies to improve profitability and leverage size, volumes, and innovation with suppliers, through know-how, strong expertise, and credibility in the category.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Support strategic sourcing activities for the category of Raw Materials.
Develop Procurement raw material category strategies as part of the raw materials category team that is integrated and aligned with overall regional strategies, and with the Holcim business.
Define benefit targets and ensure targets and Key Performance Indicators are achieved on a set portfolio of spend categories.
Achieve targets for strategic sourcing activities; spend coverage, compliance rates, and benefits generation, track implementation, compliance, and benefits against targets of selected categories.
Identify potential cost savings, spending reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities in assigned categories.
Lead cross-functional teams through supplier selection and recommendation activities including qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, RFI, and RFP development and analysis. Provide subject matter expertise while working with stakeholders and Legal in the negotiation of vendor contracts.
Drive, develop, and execute negotiation strategy with suppliers while managing supplier performance on a structured basis. Support category manager in finding Raw Material Alternatives approvals and managing supply risk.
Negotiate complex agreements that involve significant coordination with large cross-functional teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal senior stakeholders (such as Directors, VP, and Executives), key suppliers, and third-party sourcing partners to enable accelerated achievement of business objectives.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, Economics or Business
Required Work Experience: 2 -5 years.
Required Training/Certifications: Certified Buyer or Similar - Recognize in the industry as Trader or Buyer.
Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficient/Advanced skills in MS Office; specifically Excel and PPT, Google Mail & Drive. Basic SAP knowledge or equivalent.
Travel Requirements: 20%
Additional Requirements:
Preferred domestic and international strategic sourcing expertise and problem-solving/analytical skills.
Some raw materials knowledge (markets, usage, TCO, etc.). Preferred contract structures (domestic and international), basic legal terms, and legal drafting.
Knowledge of internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources.
Preferred technical aptitude, including Maintenance and Engineering services, CAPEX, Production Services, IFM (Integrated Facility Management), and Third party services agreements.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
