We are looking for a seasoned Software, Technical, People Manager with a Data Science background. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing a Software Engineering Team, overseeing technical project elements, working with cross-functional teams, and enhancing our service-based solutions.

Location Dundee

salary : £62,000- £80,000K (based on skills/experience) + attractive bonus

Strong communication abilities are essential for this position, as you will interact with numerous project managers, developers, clients, testers, and web designers to devise effective solutions.

Position responsibilities

• Lead a team of Senior and Junior Software Engineers/Data Scientists

• Collaborate with developer teams/IT providers to develop and maintain our solutions

• Define and own the technology roadmap for Engineering Data Science

• Bring new solutions to market

Basic Requirements

• Track record of developing new solutions from gathering requirements, innovation, development to bring live

• Effective prioritisation skills

• Strong Technical experience

• Project management experience

• People management experience

• Dependency management

• Networking skills

• 5+ years’ experience in similar roles

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Software Engineer or Manager leading a team

• Understanding/Practice of Agile processes

Soft Skills

• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements

• Excellent time management and project management skills

• Strong communication skills with a team-centric approach to discussion and decision-making within a distributed team

• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Continuous learning mind-set to stay updated with evolving technologies and industry trends

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field

• Master’s degree is a plus

• 5+ years of experience in software development/management
