What will I be doing?

As Assistant Night Manager, you will maintain the professional financial standards of the hotel by managing end-of-day reports, ensuring accuracy, and reporting anomalies. An Assistant Night Manager must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Complete Night Audit duties including managing our end-of-day banking, producing reports, ensuring accuracy, and reporting any anomalies
  • Investigate any anomalies found between daily reports and takings
  • Train the Night Managers to ensure the accurate completion of systems and processes
  • Assist the Night Manager in emergency situations
  • Check-In any late arriving guests to the hotel
  • Delegate tasks to the Night Porter’s on Duty
  • Assist the Front Office Manager to evaluate levels of Guest satisfaction and monitoring trends, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Serve as a point of contact for regular and important guests
  • Understand and demonstrate correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards, and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy
  • Represent the Night Manager and other senior managers in their absence, taking full responsibility for the hotel
  • Act in accordance with all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of these, as required
  • Compile adequate handover to Early staff / Duty Manager
  • Attend appropriate training courses, when needed, and assist with the Night Team's training and development efforts
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing, and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front-of-house equipment and property management systems
  • Conduct Health and Safety Checks and Night Walks
  • Maintain a good status awareness of all hotel areas

What are we looking for?

Assistant Night managers serving Hilton brands are always working on behalf of our Guests and with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Pride in ensuring the accuracy of work and encouraging Team Members to do the same
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Computer literate, with particularly strong knowledge of MS Excel
  • Understanding of the responsibilities of other areas within the Finance Department
  • Excellent grooming standards

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous experience of working in a hotel Finance Department
  • Previous experience working in Front Office or hotel outlets
