This is a Full Time Position. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Under the direction of the Surgery Nurse Director. Provides direct patient care by assisting the Physician/Surgeon and Charge Nurse with patients. Communicates with physicians Charge Nurse, nurses and other staff about the patient’s condition and responds quickly and request assistance when changes occur in the care of the patient. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient’s condition.  Additionally, is cross-trained to perform general nursing duties in other departments. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six months nursing experience in a hospital surgical setting preferred. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Current Texas LVN or RN license * Certified Scrub Tech program completion and certification * Current CPR certification required. * ALCS Certification required or must be obtained within first year of employment.                     OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will have: * Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation process required * Knowledge of infection control and aseptic procedures * Ability to follow oral and written instructions * Ability to maintain records and label items * Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, patients, and physicians
