Amarillo College Kids' College Teacher Assistant (Moore) in Dumas, Texas

This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Kids' College Teacher Assistant in Moore County who will be all-in on our mission and who are creative, work well with others, and have a diverse skill set to share with others. Kids' College classes include but are not limited to education, fitness, culinary, arts, computer, painting, and sports. We have Community Enrichment classes, Senior’s College and Kid’s College.

This position will not be filled until summer 2024.

Requirements

Must Be At Least 16 Years of Age

EDUCATION:

  • Required: Currently working on High School Diploma or GED.

  • Preferred: First Aid and CPR Certification.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • Preferred: Successful Teaching Experience.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report directly to the Site Supervisor.

  • Follow the established rules and expectations of the program.

  • Assist teacher in maintaining order and structure during class.

  • Be actively engaged and involved with students each day.

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers.

  • Be flexible with lesson plan and activity changes.

  • Ensure space is safe, clean and organized.

  • Participate in and complete performance assessments/evaluations as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess excellent communication, oral and social skills.

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stress.

  • Adaptable when dealing with a variety of ages.

  • Capable of following directions and chain of command.

Salary: Amarillo College Staff Salary Schedule (https://www.actx.edu/hr/salary-schedules) Pay grade 8 (salary is determined by human resources based on education, work experience and equity).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Be able to walk, bend, stand, squat or sit on the floor (with students). Be able to physically respond quickly in an emergency.
