The successful candidate will adhere to the university's educational philosophy and work collaboratively with colleagues. The University of Minnesota requires participation in teaching, research, and service. Duties to include: * Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in CSD * Maintain a productive line of research, develop and mentor graduate student research projects * Advise undergraduate and graduate students * Actively participate in committee service at the department, college, and university level * May provide clinical supervision Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PhD or EdD in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Speech-Language-Hearing Science, or closely related field, from an accredited institution, completed by start of contract Record of, or demonstrated potential for, strong research contributions in speech-language pathology Current ASHA certification Eligibility for Minnesota Department of Health speech-language pathology license Commitment to fostering social justice, inclusion, and working with diverse populations PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Speech-Language-Hearing Science, or closely related field, from an accredited institution, completed by the start of contract Expertise in language development and disorders and/or fluency; expertise in any other areas of speech-language pathology will be considered Research mentorship experience Record of teaching undergraduate and/or graduate CSD courses Skills teaching in blended or online learning environments Clinical supervision experience Success working effectively with culturally diverse students, colleagues, and communities Excellent skills in oral, written, and other forms of communication Demonstrated success in grant writing, publishing, and presenting research REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR Applicants for the position of Associate Professor must meet all Assistant Professor requirements and document a distinguished record of academic achievement that includes peer-reviewed, published scholarly research; innovative teaching; professional service; and must meet criteria for Associate Professor status in the College of Education and Human Service Professions at the University of Minnesota Duluth. About the Department The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is housed in the College of Education and Human Service Professions and has five full-time faculty members, five full-time clinical instructors, and four part-time clinical instructors. The department has strong affiliations with regional schools, hospitals, and clinics, and has an on-campus teaching clinic, the Robert F. Pierce Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, and four research laboratories. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
