Job Summary
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer helps product teams, platform teams and application teams successfully adopt cloud infrastructure and platform services. It is heavily involved in design and implementation activities that result in new or improved cloud-related capabilities, automating cloud management tasks, provisioning and configuration management, infrastructure and application observability design, and cost management. This role requires a high level of self-direction and be comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems and products. This position will be part of the Information Technology team.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Provide technical leadership in the deployment and maintenance of cloud-based services using the Azure platform.
Work with IT Product Teams to ensure guidelines are followed and/or create cloud resources where necessary.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, use of infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code concepts, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Work closely with security specialists to design, implement and test security controls, and ensure engineering activities align to security configuration guidance.
Promptly respond to requests for engineering assistance from technical customers as needed. Provide engineering support, present ideas and create best-practice guidance materials.
Participate in the design and implementation of a cost management structure and reporting for resource owners.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
4+ years’ experience deploying IaaS and PaaS services in a cloud environment.
Proficiency and experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of Azure or other cloud computing platforms.
Proficiency with a scripting language such as bash, python, or PowerShell.
Knowledge of security principles in networking, storage, and cloud computing.
