Duties: Teaching (100%): Develop and teach courses Demonstrate high command of their subject matter Have well organized course plans and deliver courses clearly to students Make an effort in curricular development Help students fulfill their academic needs Maintain a consistent and positive student teaching evaluation record Hold office hours Catalog Course Description CHE 4502 | Chemical Engineering Design II Course description: Continuation of ChE 4501. Equipment design, instrumentation, process control, hazardous waste management plan, plant safety, economic feasibility, and institute analysis for process chosen. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant field One year of relevant teaching experience at the college level (graduate TA experience acceptable) Effective written communication skills appropriate to the position Experience in using technology for teaching. Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant field Two or more years of relevant college-level teaching experience or professional experience in a relevant field Experience teaching a variety of upper and lower division courses such as those offered by the UMD Effective teaching and communication skills appropriate to the position Expertise in using technology for teaching Demonstrated experience with assessment Evidence of the ability to work effectively with diverse groups Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $5,700 - $8,700 per semester; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
