Job Summary:

As an Events Manager at CBORD, you will drive strategic initiatives to scale our event programs and enhance our brand awareness . Y ou will lead the planning, execution, and management of a diverse range of events , including trade shows, conferences, incentive programs, Sales Kick Offs, Advisory Boards, and Leadership Team meetings . This dynamic role requires collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure seamless event logistics and deliver exceptional experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for event planning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously . We are seeking a highly organized and energetic DREAMteam player that is engaging and creative . Experience driving and producing high quality, seamless events. One of our key conferences is the CBORD’s User Group Conference ( UGC ), hosting 650-700 people annually.

What You will Bring to the Table

Event Management key responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute events ranging from 20 -1,000 attendees, including Customer Advisory Boards , Incentive Trips and Sales Kick Offs.

  • Set and uphold high standards for event ideation, planning, production, and execution.

  • Manage a team responsible for event training, day-to-day operations, and professional growth.

  • Develop integrated event calendars, timelines, budgets, and project plans.

  • Drive attendance and sponsorship growth through strategic marketing initiatives.

  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and audio/visual requirements.

  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown to ensure seamless operations.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for event attendees, sponsors, and partners.

    Strategic Planning:

  • Develop data-driven event strategies aligned with overall go-to-market plans.

  • Support sales team efforts in generating marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) through onsite activations.

    Speaker & Educational Program Sourcing:

  • Source and coordinate speakers, including keynote speakers and entertainment.

  • Manage internal speaker series and support external events like Sales Kick Off and Leadership Summits.

    Venue and Vendor Management:

  • Manage all aspects of special events, including negotiation of contracts and logistics.

    Budget Management:

  • Develop and oversee event budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.

    Continuous Improvement:

  • Track and analyze performance metrics, integrating the latest event management technologies for continuous improvement and innovation.

    Sponsorship Management:

  • Develop and manage sponsorship programs to support event initiatives and revenue growth.

    Technology Integration:

  • Utilize event management technologies (e.g., Cvent, HubSpot) to enhance attendee engagement and streamline processes.

    Industry Trends:

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in event management.

    What’s Good to Know

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in event planning and management.

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale events and smaller community-focused gatherings.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.

  • Proficiency in event management software (e.g., Cvent), and HubSpot .

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel up to 60%.

  • Certification in event planning or project management (e.g., CMP, PMP) is a plus.
