Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire an Outpatient Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator.

As an Outpatient Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator at MercyOne, you will Procures a wide variety of supplies, equipment, and services required to support the inpatient pharmacy of MercyOne Medical Center. Coordinates and implements inpatient pharmacy operations workflow, purchasing and inventory processes. Serves as a resource on pharmacy purchasing issues to pharmacy, nursing, physician, and hospital management staff. Serves as a representative for MMC Dubuque to Trinity Health Corporate regarding pharmacy purchasing activities. Assumes responsibility for contract compliance and contract reimbursement. Serves as a resource for all pharmacy staff members and works closely in and outside of the department to identify improvements in workflow, policy development, and assist in meeting regulatory compliance.

Schedule:

  • rotating days/shifts

General Requirements:

  • Up to one year of experience in order to: learn inventory control standards and techniques; learn pharmacy procedures; become familiar with various vendors and their products; acquire knowledge of pharmaceuticals; and become familiar with contractual arrangements helpful.

  • Previous experience in pharmacy setting helpful, but not required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GroupWise; and internet/intranet preferred.

Education:

  • associate degree in accounting, healthcare, business, management, computers, or related area desired.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
