Amazon Web Services (AWS) Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing relational database architectures leveraging AWS services. The Relational Database Specialist Solutions Architect will work closely with the Database Services team, Business Development and Sales to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption and revenue of AWS. You will work with the largest companies in the world to design flexible and cost-effective cloud-based solutions. You will develop whitepapers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage AWS services. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help other SA’s understand how to integrate AWS relational database services into customer architectures. As a trusted advisor and strategic leader with technical expertise in Oracle database systems, you will share recommendations around security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate building key data solutions and applications on AWS for our customers. You will guide the customers/partners in designing the migration strategy for their data workload on AWS.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities

• Design Customer Solutions and ­ Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre­sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use Amazon RDS for Oracle, RDS Custom for Oracle and Oracle Database@AWS

• Devise Strategy ­ and Engage with Solution Architects, Account Managers, Professional Services and Partners to define a Database & Analytics Engagement strategy for AWS operational territories and key accounts

• Thought Leadership – Provide global thought leadership on Database solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. This takes the form of contribution to external publications such as the AWS Blog, Whitepapers and Reference architectures, as well as internal training of Solution Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers

• Serve as a key member of the business development and account management team in helping to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform

• Assist solution providers with the definition and implementation of technical and business strategies

• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the worldwide AWS solution architect community

• Identify key use cases and associated reference architectures for AWS market segments and industry verticals

Basic Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of database-driven applications or infrastructures

• 7+ years management of technical, customer facing resources

• 10+ years of implementation, operations deployment of Exadata,Oracle RAC-based solutions

• Hands-on experience as a Oracle DBA, data warehouse architect or database developer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical and customer-facing skills enabling perception as a "trusted advisor" to customers. He or she will be able to facilitate relationships with senior technical executives, as well as easily interact and give guidance to software developers, IT operations staff, and system architects. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

• Executive speaking and presentation skills – Formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations.

• Track record of implementing AWS, Azure, OCI services in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises and start-ups
