This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Dublin office.

  • Deliver high-quality and scalable solutions for NLP and LLMs

  • Conduct original research and publish in credible conferences and journals in the field of NLP and LLMs

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in NLP and LLMs and incorporate them into our products and services

  • Establish best practices and standards for NLP and LLMs development and evaluation

  • Building links between academia, technology, and third-party industry partners

  • Communicate effectively with senior management, clients, and partners to present and explain our solutions and their business value

  • Deliver innovative AI solutions that directly make valuable contrbituions across Aon

    How this opportunity is different

    As a Senior AI Scientist, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) solutions for the financial services and insurance industry. You will work with a multi-functional team of data scientists, engineers, and domain experts to create innovative products that leverage state-of-the-art NLP and LLMs techniques, such as GPT-4, Claude, Huggingface, LLaMA, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pinecone, and others. You will also contribute to the research and development of new methods and applications of NLP and LLMs in the context of finance and insurance.

    The Senior AI Scientist will have direct exposure to the Senior Tech Leadership based in Dublin, gaining exposure to impactful projects and products across the global organisation.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • A PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field

  • Experience in NLP and LLMs, with a consistent record of publications, patents, or open source contributions in these domains

  • Strong programming skills in Python with experience in applying NLP and LLMs to various tasks and domains relevant to finance and insurance, such as text analysis, information extraction, document understanding, natural language generation, question answering, conversational agents, etc.

  • Designing and developing innovative AI model architectures that leverage principles from encoder/decoders, jointly trained models, Siamese-twin models, VAEs, GANs, etc. You will also be involved in advanced training methods such as GPT and Diffusion and developing/refining learning objectives including self-supervision

  • You’ll be skilled in adapting and debugging ML systems across different environments, interested in all aspects of machine learning, such as parameter efficient adaptation of large language and vision models

  • You will have acquired expertise in Transformers, be experienced with API wrappers like LangChain and Auto-GPT, have experience in evaluating LLMs and prompt engineering, semantic search, and embedding-based fine tuning of NLP models such as those in Sentence Transformers

  • A passion for innovation and solving challenging problems with NLP and LLMs
