Compass Datacenters Safety Lead, SME in Dublin, Ireland

The Safety Lead will serve as subject matter expert in all aspects of safety per designated region. The SME will assess EHS risks and support programming, auditing, and training in designated geographic region. Provide guidance and work closely with delivery, operations and other support groups to ensure EHS efforts are sufficient and effective. Support safety initiatives and provide expertise and counsel for the Global EHS Program along with the Corporate Safety Director and VP, Global Physical Security and Life Safety.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Corporate Safety Director with Global EHS Program efforts
Work closely with delivery and operations teams and general contractors
Identify safety issues and recommend mitigation policies and strategies to ensure compliance with Compass and customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements
Conduct audits and review plans and documentation of EHS policy, process, and procedures to identify unsafe acts and conditions, program gaps, and best practices
Manage project-level safety inspections and reporting
Perform periodic project site walks and inspections with the Compass Construction Managers and 3rd party EHS representative Provides EH&S training to Compass staff and Construction Managers as needed
Review designs for evacuation plans, lighting, and ventilation to ensure minimum or no danger to the safety or health of the site guests or workers
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics in the designated region for continuous improvement
First point of offsite escalation in the event of a safety incident on a project site; supports and advises project teams during incident investigations and root cause analyses
Develop and distribute Safety Notifications
Support worker's compensation claims process
Responsible for completing any other duties and tasks as assigned by management
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates with the project managers and contributes to projects as required
Required to travel up to 50%
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
8 years of experience with EHS programs including construction and general industry
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other equivalent EHS certification preferred
Experience in data centers or mission critical processes and regional/local regulatory requirements
Ability to work with partner teams for the purposes of incorporating EHS scopes in design, execution, and delivery of builds
Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement of processes and performance; results-driven and detail-oriented
Experience in performing safety inspections, program audits, training, and implementing policies and procedures to achieve goals and objectives
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
High energy and drive, a strong desire to achieve and a high dedication level
Working knowledge of Windows, MS Word, Excel
