Google Director, Financial Planning and Analysis System Engineering in Dublin, Ireland

Minimum qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in FP&A, with 5 years in a leadership role overseeing FP&A systems.

  • Experience implementing and managing FP&A software solutions.

  • Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and SQL, Python (or other data analysis tools) along with cloud-based FP&A platforms and data visualization tools.

  • Experience leading teams and driving results.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.

  • Strong communication and people skills.

We are seeking a driven Director of Financial Planning and Analysis Engineering to lead our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) systems team.

In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing our financial systems and processes, driving data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial reporting.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Lead the FP&A systems team, providing guidance and support. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of FP&A systems including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and data visualization tools.

  • Ensure the integrity of financial data across all FP&A systems. Establish and maintain data governance protocols.

  • Lead the integration of FP&A systems with other financial and operational systems, ensuring seamless data flow and reporting.

  • Develop comprehensive financial reporting and analysis capabilities, providing actionable insights.

  • Partner with stakeholders including finance, accounting, IT, and business units to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
