Be part of our EHS team as a Project Safety Manager (Industrial Automation) in Dubai/Project Sites within the UAE.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Implement the organization's general policy on Health, Safety, Security and Environment in conjunction with the Client/Consultant HSSE expectations documents for all Customer Projects.

  • Ensure full compliance with all Client/Legal, ISO standard requirements (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015), and other stakeholder requirements applicable to the projects.

  • Close collaboration with the HSSE departments to ensure full compliance with Client/Consultant requirements and stakeholder management within the Project(s) in accordance with the organization's processes and international best practices.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the project HSSE team.

  • Ensure implementation of HSE in project business and support the business in all facets of HSE.

  • Ensure accurate HSE performance monitoring and reporting to fulfil the Client/Legal and contractual requirement(s) to support the business.

  • Conduct project HSE and Worker welfare inspections and ensure HSE objectives are met by proactively performing the duties.

  • Lead and/or be part of the team that investigates accidents or incidents, encourages near-miss reporting, submits reports on work practices, and undertakes risk assessments to enable decisions that are consistent with the company's obligations.

  • Prepare reports, bulletins, and safety and health program promotional materials and keep all levels of staff up-to-date with HSE Communication.

  • Identify potential hazards and provide advice and assistance to mitigate/eliminate risks, thereby reducing accidents and/or consequences.

  • Measure, report, and provide action plans for safety results monthly and quarterly, using data collected and providing results to HSE leaders.

  • Inspect worksite and sub-contractor facilities and recommend corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance.

  • Conducts regular training programs about employee safety procedures, accident protection and prevention, and emergency preparedness.

  • Participate in internal/external audits and compliance audits conducted by the Client.

  • Prepare a corrective action plan identified during audits and diligently provide a closeout report as applicable.

  • Inform the Head of HSE and project manager about the HSE's excellence.

  • Responsible for keeping up to date with current HSE practice, focusing on HSE improvement measures, and continuing education by attending courses offered to remain at the forefront of his profession.

  • Safety: responsible/accountable for following occupational health, safety, security, and environment.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • Degree/Diploma in Safety or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in HSE/Safety lead role in a project-based environment in the industrial automation field.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading and managing a team of HSE personnel and on-site workforce.

  • Experience in writing incident, investigation, and root cause analysis reports, and policies for health and safety.

  • Certification in occupational health, safety and environmental management, i.e. NEBOSH Diploma/NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.

  • Strong analytical and leadership skills and proactive vision to make new changes that will positively affect the organization, creating a safe work culture.

  • Vigilant on-site and coach the personnel deployed on-site with best practices.

  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.

  • Diligent with great attention to detail and good organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, good to have worked in multiple cultural areas, adapting to the cultural work ethics as applicable.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety.

  • Proficient in MS Office, and working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
