Are you passionate about shaping the future of transportation in the Middle East? AECOM is currently seeking a creative and self-driven Graduate Transportation Planner to join our large, dynamic, and highly technical team of planners and engineers based at our office in Dubai, UAE. As a leading provider of traffic and transportation planning services, we are committed to establishing ourselves as the most trusted name in transportation planning, with a strong focus on multi-modal transport master planning and excellence in transport modeling.

Role Overview

As a Graduate Transport Planner at AECOM, you will play a vital role in major urban development and infrastructure projects across the Middle East region, assisting the team in preparing Traffic Impact Studies, Multi-modal Transport Master Plans, and Traffic Engineering solutions. We also offer a range a specialism’s within the team including; Development Planning, Sustainable Travel, Road Safety, Pedestrian Modelling and public transport scheme development/appraisals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop designs, calculations, sketches, and diagrams to support transportation planning projects.

  • Develop technical skills and abilities, mainly using transport planning software such as Synchro, SIDRA, and GIS as per specific discipline requirements.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and participate in design and coordination meetings.

  • Contribute to project success by providing technical services within agreed project time, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Maintain and enhance transport modeling and planning knowledge.

  • Continuously improve technical and industry knowledge through participation in forums and industry-related programs.

  • Research, analyze, and report on a range of quantitative and qualitative transport modeling and planning projects.

  • Undertake modeling and analysis tasks to support project deliverables.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Planning subjects from an accredited University

  2. Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.

  3. Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.

  4. If you hold a Master’s Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.

  5. Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional-level roles instead.

  6. Basic familiarity with GIS analysis is preferred.
