  1. PA Instructional Certificate: Art (PK-12)

  3. BA required in appropriate major study
  4. Knowledge of content in area of certification
  5. Classroom/group management skills
  6. Ability to use instructional materials and equipment
  7. Knowledge of child growth and development
  8. Instructional skills
  9. Planning Skills
  10. Human Relations Skills
  11. Must be able to organize a classroom to deliver the Upper Darby School District academic program
  12. Strong communication and motivational skills
  13. Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students, staff and parents/guardians

Job Goal:

 

To participate, as a member of the instructional staff, in directing the learning of students. Such participation shall be directed toward attainment of general and specific objectives of the curricula of the school, and of the school district. 

 

*Essential Functions: *

  1. Evaluate referred students and consult with Multidisciplinary evaluation team
  2. Instruct special education students in the least restrictive environment according to their individualized education program (IEP)
  3. Comply with federal, state, and local special education regulations
  4. Encourage responsible behavior
  5. Integrate special education students into the mainstream of regular education
  6. Assist special education students in their daily school routine
