Position:   Title I Instructional Aides - Math (JobID 5192) Locations: Elementary Buildings Pay Rate: $16.06 per hour Schedule: Up to 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday; 180 school days per year following Board-approved calendar Benefit Eligible: Yes - positions working at least 30 hours per week Effective Date: ASAP

Job Summary:  Under the direction of the math specialist and the supervision of the building principal, assists with the instruction of Title I students individually or in small groups..

Qualifications:  To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.  The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills and/or ability necessary.

  • High school diploma plus *two (2) years of college, Associate's degree or higher, or* pass the state or local assessment.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology for individual and system management, communications, and research.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal recordcheck requirements

Duties & Responsibilities:  *(Abbreviated - Please review the attached job description for more details on these specific opportunities) *

  1. Assist in the delivery of math instruction to small groups or individual students under the direction of the math specialist, teacher, or supervisor
  2. Implement instructional strategies and interventions as outlined by the math specialist or supervisor
  3. Provide reinforcement of math concepts and skills to support classroom instruction 
  4. Administer and score appropriate math assessments as directed
  5. Monitor and document student progress using provided tools and protocols
  6. Work collaboratively with teachers, math specialists, instructional coach, and other staff to support student learning and achievement
  7. Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions as required
  8. Instruct individual or small groups of Title I students in various settings to complement, reinforce, and enhance classroom instruction
  9. Log daily work and Title I student progress to be reported to the classroom teacher, math specialist and/or the building principal for use in designing appropriate next steps in instr ction
  10. Utilizes appropriate technologies (e.g., computers) as they relate to classroom instruction. Assists Title I students in computer instruction
  11. A Title I Aide may assume limited duties assigned to similar personnel not working in a Title I program if the amount of time spent on such duties is the same proportion of total work as the time spent by similar personnel. These limited duties may include non-instructional duties, such as study hall or recess, and other duties that do not benefit Title I-participating students
