Position is located: Mayo Hospital

Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 36.00

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Summary:

Works under the supervision of a physical therapist. Duties include assisting the physical therapist in implementing treatment programs according to the plan of care, training patients in exercises and activities of daily living, conducting treatments using special equipment, administering modalities and other treatment procedures, and reporting to the physical therapist on the patient's responses.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes sound ergonomic principles • Recognizes unsafe working conditions and offer appropriate corrective actions • Demonstrates cardiopulmonary resuscitation • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of massage, exercise techniques, proper body mechanics, gait training, mechanical traction, electrical stimulation, and heat and cold treatments. • Reports to therapist any problems or changes in the patients condition. • Proactively assists others • Works as part of a team consulting with physicians and caregivers to promote continuity of care • Effectively communicates job related information
