About the Role:

Confluent is seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Analyst to join our Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact by scaling the financial reporting process. Due to the fast-paced and high growth nature of the Company, the candidate must be detail-oriented, maintain an inquisitive mindset, and have the ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment to help drive Confluent’s continued growth. The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years of total experience from a Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 and public company financial reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Draft financial statements and related disclosures

  • Ensure quality control of overall financial reporting deliverables

  • Prepare financial statement flux analysis at the consolidated-level

  • Draft quarterly, annual, or ad hoc technical accounting memos

  • Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company and partner with stakeholders to analyze the impact

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within Finance, Accounting, Investor Relations, and Legal

  • Coordinate and interact with the Company's external auditors

  • Take initiative for process improvements to scale and optimize the financial reporting process

  • Actively engage in process improvements, including developing and maintaining Sarbanes Oxley controls over financial reporting

What You Will Bring:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Big 4 experience or a combination of Big 4 and public company financial reporting experience

  • Precise, analytical, organized, and self-motivated

  • Good working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and ability to research accounting guidance

  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Donnelley Financial Solutions experience a plus

  • Enterprise software and/or SaaS industry experience a plus

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $107,200 - $126,000, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
