Job Description

Location: Dover or New Castle (onsite 3 days a week, 5 days during training until proficient)

Salary: $65,000 - 75,000

Projects:

   Work on large interchange projects and path trails

   Utilize MicroStation for design, learning engineering basics, and mentoring

   Perform computations, design changes, and final inspections

   Projects become more technical as experience grows

 Job Summary: The Highway Design Engineer will perform vital tasks in transportation and highway engineering, ensuring compliance with design criteria and standards. The role involves working on multiple projects, preparing engineering documents, and developing construction cost estimates.

 Key Responsibilities:

   Design Execution: Engage in the design process under experienced professionals

   Client Engagement: Assist in maintaining and expanding client relationships

   Project Documentation: Prepare engineering documents and cost estimates

Collaborative Work: Contribute to a team-oriented environment on multiple projects

Skills and Requirements

Background:

   Civil engineering or related background

   EIT preferred, with training to obtain PE

   0-4 years of experience

 Qualifications:

   Education: BSCE from an ABET-accredited program

   Experience: 1-4 years in highway transportation design (internships or relevant coursework considered)

Communication: Exceptional written and oral skills Experience with State Agency Transportation Departments

   EIT Certification preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and Inroads or Geopak null
