Job Title: Ride Operator and Concessions Employees

Job Duties: May include but not limited to:

  • Sell tickets and collect fees from customers.

  • Provide information about facilities, entertainment options, and rules and regulations.

  • Keep informed of shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures.

  • Direct patrons to rides, seats, or attractions.

  • Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures, or arrange for the removal of unruly patrons.

  • Record details of attendance, sales, receipts, reservations, or repair activities.

  • Maintain inventories of equipment, storing and retrieving items and assembling and disassembling equipment as necessary.

  • Tend amusement booths in parks, carnivals, or stadiums, performing duties, such as conducting games, photographing patrons, or awarding prizes.

  • Provide assistance to patrons entering or exiting amusement rides.

  • Clean sporting equipment, vehicles, rides, booths, facilities, or grounds.

  • Inspect equipment to detect wear and damage and perform minor repairs, adjustments, or maintenance 

tasks, such as oiling parts.

  • Verify, collect, or punch tickets before admitting patrons to venues

  • Fasten safety devices for patrons, or provide them with directions for fastening devices.

  • Announce or describe amusement park attractions to patrons to entice customers to games and other entertainment.

  • Sell and serve ready-made refreshments to customers.

     

Special Skills Requirements Description:

  • Must be willing and able to travel every 2-3 days.

  • If staying in employer-provided housing, must be willing and able to tolerate sleeping in trailer bunks reduced to 50 square feet of space per person with minimal cooking facilities.

  • Must be available entire contract period.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to perform physical labor. 

  • May conduct post-hire, employer-paid drug testing.

*Special Requirements and Provi ions: *

-Schedule varies (days of the week and shift times). Additional hours may be offered. May be required to work weekends.         

-Itinerary starts in Douglas County. 

Work will be performed at various locations (see list of all counties included in itinerary for reference).  

Periodic daily or weekly travel. Itinerary subject to change depending on weather and external factors. 

All Begin and End dates on Appendix A reflect the application Start and End dates to provide Employer itinerary flexibility.

-Hourly wage is dependent upon on location. See Appendix A for details.

-Additional hours may be offered above 40; however, employer is exempt from federal overtime pay according to Section 13(a)(3) of the FLSA. Employer will comply with any state or local overtime requirements if warranted.

-Employer will pay the highest of all prevailing wages for each worksite location throughout the entire period of employment.

-Employer may offer a bonus depending on experience and merit.

-Transportation provided to all worksite locations from primary worksite.

-Employer provides optional housing to workers who do not reside within a reasonable commute to primary worksite location.

-Deductions: N/A. Optional housing is provided free of charge to the employees.

*Assurances: *

Employer will make all deductions from workers' paycheck required by law.  Employer will provide all tools, supplies and equipment to perform job at no charge to worker. Employer guarantees to offer work for the hours equal to at least ¾ of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. A single workweek will be used as a standard for computing wages.  H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).  Transportation (including meals and lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost reimbursed, if the worker completes half of the employment period or if, after deducting the total cost owed to the worker in the first workweek, the worker does not earn enough to make the federal minimum hourly wage.  Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer.  The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved.  Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
