• Functions as a scrub person for surgical cases • Assists the RN in providing care to patients of all ages undergoing surgical procedure.
Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist from the Association of Surgical Technologists required or must be qualified to sit National Certification Exam.
If not certified, must pass Certification Exam within twelve(12) months of employment.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner with patients.
Ability to accurately and promptly communicate with peers, supervisors, and physicians.
SKILLS:
Successful course completion in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Annual completion of “Unit Specific” Competency requirements as delineated in unit specific competency tool.
