SUMMARY

The general accounting internship will provide comprehensive exposure to accounting and operational finance. The intern will rotate through all areas of operational finance, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing and supplier/vendor management. In addition, the intern will learn essential functions on the financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Knowledge of key financial processes and systems will provide a useful background to many future roles in Finance.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Assist in the preparation of journal entries

  • Develop working knowledge of invoice processing

  • Participate in the twice weekly payment (check) run

  • Assist in the preparation of customer invoices

  • Participate in fixed asset audits

  • Ad hoc accounting projects as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field

  • Availability year round.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous exposure to accounting (courses or work experience)

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Basic Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word knowledge.
