Job Posting Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Supervisor to oversee and support student teachers during their clinical placements in high-need middle and high schools. The Clinical Supervisor will play a key role in helping student teachers refine their pedagogy, offering constructive feedback, and fostering professional growth. Responsibilities include observing classroom instruction, providing actionable feedback, listening to student teacher concerns, and facilitating communication between the student teachers, K-12 cooperating teachers, and university faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
Observe and evaluate student teacher performance during classroom instruction in high-need school settings.
Provide supportive, evidence-based feedback to student teachers to improve teaching strategies and classroom management.
Offer guidance on pedagogy, lesson planning, and culturally responsive teaching.
Collaborate with K-12 teachers and school administrators to ensure a cohesive teaching and learning experience.
Communicate regularly with university faculty to report on student teacher progress.
Address student teacher concerns with empathy and provide mentorship and professional development.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in education or related field.
NYS certified teacher
