Job Posting Summary
The Nursing Student ATI Champion is an advocate and promoter of ATI resources who serves as a mentor to other students. Also, the Nursing Student ATI Champion ensures that nursing students are fully utilizing their ATI resources.
The Nursing Student ATI Champion is an undergraduate nursing student who completed at least 2 semesters of nursing courses and has demonstrated excellence in classroom and clinical settings.
A. Functions as student leader assisting students with ATI website navigation
Facilitates new student orientations covering website navigation
Walks students through how to access results and Focused Review 2.0
Verifies that ATI assignments are available to students
B. Supports students with ATI related topics
Serves as liaison between students and Faculty ATI Champions
Collaborates with ATI Faculty Champions/Course faculty to improve student experience and identify student training needs
Attends Student ATI Champion meetings with ATI Faculty Champions
Collaborates with faculty ATI Champion on creative ways to use ATI in class
C. Student Peer Leader/Mentor:
Assists students through duration of program to maximize use of ATI tools & resources
Guides students to available institutional resources to foster time management, study skills, and strategies
D. Policies and Procedures Compliance
Complying with policies and procedures of the Department of Natural Sciences and the University including but not limited to the University’s Code of Conduct.
Accurately logging in work hours on Banner timesheets in Mercy Connect and submitting them on time.
Communicating with the Manager about any issues that may arise in sessions
E. Collaboration with Co-Facilitator
Communicating weekly (or more) with the Nursing NCLEX director
Dividing duties during the session (e.g. attendance, participation, leading activities)
Qualifications
Be a current nursing student at Mercy University (undergraduate)
Minimum GPA of 3.5
Have successfully completed the NURS 226 & 227 courses
Strong ATI navigation skills
Must complete the Student ATI Champ ion Training Course
Strong leadership skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to maintain an appropriate degree of confidentiality
Possession of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (EXCEL, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Teams
Have a willingness to learn and develop skills
Have an ability to communicate effectively with students/faculty/manager
Be approachable, collaborative and inclusive
Be responsive to various communication channels
Demonstrate good study skills and a professional demeanor
Have a strong desire and commitment to helping students be successful
