Job Summary

KBR is seeking a highly motivated logistician to join our team. The position allows for continual growth and learning opportunities within the Transportation field comprising of Air, Sea and Surface Cargo Movements. Successful candidates will be detailed orient as accuracy in reporting is a crucial part of our mission. The position interacts directly with camp customers both military and civilian daily, strong communications and customers service skills are required. The candidate must be able to multi-task, prioritize work, work within provided time guidelines successfully while maintaining a safe work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of logistical plans, policies, and procedures necessary to provide support in the logistics areas of supply, transportation, maintenance, and services.

  • Candidates must have familiarization and knowledge with cargo/mail sorting, segregating, inventorying, and repacking requirements.

  • Tracking cargo movement within the Defense Transportation System (DTS) with approved government systems (GATES).

  • Prepares and review Bills of Lading for civilian carriers for surface/air/ocean movements.

  • Recommends and coordinates the logistics support structure to perform the logistics functions of the project.

  • Coordinates the interface between logistics functions such as transportation, maintenance and warehousing to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective support to the customer.

  • Troubleshoots problem areas in logistics and coordinates problem resolution or recommends solutions to management.

  • Coordinates with customers to ensure desired logistics objectives, priorities, and schedules are met and communicated to management.

  • Analyzes work processes and develops metrics for measurement of performance.

  • Coordinates with Environmental, Safety, and other Shared Services functional areas as appropriate regarding logistical functions performed under contract.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of Logistics related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have logistics knowledge of documentation verification receipt of cargo supplies, and research.

  • Must have logistics knowledge of documentation verification receipt of cargo supplies, and research. (DD Form 1149/DD Form 1854)

  • Familiar with Hazardous Material certification requirements, handling, and packaging.

  • Familiar with General Cargo processing, documentation, inspection and repackaging if required.

  • Must be able to operate Material Handling Equipment (Forklift up to 10K).

Preferred Requirements

  • Must be capable of working independently under pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Familiar with often-changing deadlines, inquiries, and related pressures and able to handle multiple tasks.

  • Must have good communication & Customer service skills

  • Demonstrate strong work ethics, and mathematical/analytical skills

  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
