Office of Personnel Management Special Projects Manager in District of Columbia, District Of Columbia

Summary As a Special Projects Manager with the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM), you will support and lead agency mission critical initiatives that increase OPM's ability to deliver complex, enterprise projects by creating robust project and change management plans, suppporting stakeholder engagement, driving executive and inter-agency communication, and addressing customer pain points. Responsibilities Lead agency-wide transformational initiatives and provide expert advisory support to improve organizational health, customer-focus, and overall performance leveraging a data-driven approach. Provide expert advisory guidance in support of transformation program focused on organizational health, customer focus and overall performance. Conduct in-depth analysis that leverages quantitative and qualitative data to understand the root cause rivers for significant organizational and performance related issues. Conduct structured problem solving to determine the scope, key issues and potential solutions associated with projects. Lead project teams and workstreams, in the analysis and solution generation. Manage project milestones and deliverables including meeting preparation and facilitation, follow-ups, scoping out phases of work, and communicating progress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or National Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required This position is not eligible for inclusion in a bargaining unit Qualifications Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level (or equivalent) in the federal service that includes the following tasks: Leading and managing complex projects or initiatives, creating project plans and ensuring timely execution and successful delivery of project outcomes. Developing and implementing change management strategies and plans that address organizational challenges, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and drive adoption of new processes or systems. Engaging with executives, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to gather input, communicate project progress, and manage expectations. This includes preparing and delivering presentations, memos, and other communication materials to leadership. AND Identifying issues and developing data-driven recommendations that incorporate a variety of viewpoints and/or inputs. Applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level.
