POSITION TITLE: Marketing and Communications Manager

OBJECTIVE: Guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and documentation to consistently articulate BBNA's mission. The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for the management and implementation of the organization's communication plan. This includes the publication of print and email newsletters, brochures, annual reports, ads, publicity materials, audio/visual materials, and online marketing. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results stated below. Job knowledge / documentation absolutely required: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism (preferred) or 4+ years of equivalent work experience. At least two years of experience in publications, writing, interviewing, editing (WordPress), design coordination, and desktop publishing (Adobe Creative Cloud preferred). Candidates should have strong verbal and writing skills, practical photography and videography skills. Experience producing online content and managing websites and social media presence to achieve community engagement. Initiative and independence carrying out responsibilities and strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member. Demonstrated excellent communication with and enjoyment of working with people of varying backgrounds, including villages, government agency representatives and public. Capable of working with minimum errors and performing complicated tasks with a minimum of supervision. PREFERRED: Familiarity with people and culture of Bristol Bay region. ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS Provide General Communication by

  • Supporting the development and implementation of an annual communication plan.
  • Engage audiences that lead to measurable action, by deciding who, where, and when to disseminate communication.
  • Collect and write client stories for reporting in BBNA communication print and digital documents.
  • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic documents including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual report, and social media (Website, Facebook, other)
  • Coordinate webpage maintenance, ensuring that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.
  • Coordinate and organize annual training that engage staff on the dissemination of approved communication inside and outside the organization.
  • Identify emerging trends in the field and evaluate new tools to promote BBNA's mission and visual content.
  • Manage all media contacts.

Provide support to the Director of Administration as needed by

  • Delivering Correspondence
  • Maintaining files of original forms and/or digital forms
  • Acting as custodian of communication files
  • Providing Research / Fact finding for staff, i.e., telephone surveys, information gathering from government or private sources.
  • Providing Communication Support's services to Program Managers/Directors as needed.

Provide communication needs through technology by

  • Use of Adobe Creative Cloud to develop, design, and distribute electronic and printed documents.
  • Use of WordPress for the development and maintenance of BBNA website.
  • Knowledge of social media and it's use for non-profit organizations.

Keeps Management Informed by

  • Producing a comprehensive monthly report to the Director of Administrative Services.

Protect program integrity and client privacy by

  • Agreeing to keep all information related to clients, other staff members, or program matters gained through employment at BBNA confidential during and after this employment.

Contribute to the overall team effort by

  • Welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to add value to the organization helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed.
