Job Summary:

The

Wire Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Wiring Engineering department to ensure efficient and effective project execution. Reporting to the Engineering Leader, this role involves providing technical guidance, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and project deadlines. The Wire Engineering Supervisor will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes. Primary duties will include operations across multiple locations to efficiently produce wire and harness assemblies for our Customers and to provide any other engineering-related services required and contracted by our Customers. Ability to lead, coordinate and set clear project guidelines for engineering teams. Ability to propose project strategies and apply changes where necessary.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The Wire Engineering Supervisor performs a key role in providing direct support to the Operations unit while ensuring long-term objectives of the plant are consistently progressed and met
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineers, assisting them in problem-solving and decision-making processes
  • Develop and implement engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality and compliance with industry regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, quality and procurement, to ensure seamless integration of engineering activities with overall business operations
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks or issues, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure timely completion
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of engineering staff, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring to foster professional growth and development
  • Manage engineering budgets, including resource allocation, equipment procurement, and cost control, to optimize project outcomes within financial constraints
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in engineering technology and industry trends, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance productivity and competitiveness
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance within the Wire Engineering team, ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety requirements
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelors degree from an EAC/ABET accredited institution in relevant engineering field

5 years of experience in engineering or related role, including at least 3 years of project management or leadership

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for process writing and communication with internal and external customers through the course of the required work

Ability to multi-task work with frequent interruptions

Ability to clearly speak, write, read and effectively communicate
