Job Description SummaryAAM is seeking a Technical Manager Software Controls Engineering with experience in developing Electric drive unit Motor Controls, vehicle and device level controls for embedded controllers in an ASPICE compliant environment for driveline systems.
Job Description Responsible for developing and testing control algorithms and diagnostics to meet customer requirements. Implement control system designs in a model based and C code environment. Serve as Technical Lead for Control Systems for a given program. Serve as AAM Global Expert in Electric Drive Unit Motor Controls, Vehicle Dynamics and device Controls. Define Control Modules for AAM Core Control Software. Review and approve designs, Control Algorithms, and calibrations for a given program. Work closely with electronics and software departments to ensure design of electronics and low- level software can meet control algorithm requirements. Support architecture design and development. Support and conduct in-vehicle test maneuvers used for development activities and performance evaluation. Analyze vehicle and bench data and modify calibration parameters to achieve performance targets. Use Simulation Tools, such as CARSim to develop and verify control algorithms. Create and Modify Plant models for simulation tools. Assist with creating test procedures used to develop and validate control software. Define and maintain control system design guides and best practices. Ability to travel to global test sites, as required, for calibration, tuning, and validation of controls.
Required Skills and Education Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. 10+ years in automotive controls development, preferably Driveline experience. Good understanding & experience in Electric vehicles and Motor types used Ability to travel up to 20% of the year. Expert in developing controls algorithms in Matlab/Simulink environment. Highly Skilled in use of IBM Rational Tool Set, and Vector tools such as CANape and CANoe. Skilled in CARSim or other model-based simulation tool. Good understanding of AUTOSAR. Broad Knowledge of Driveline Components and their functionality. Expert in control systems theories and applicability in real world applications. Comfortable making presentation to customers and AAM managers and executives. Very good Knowledge in Functional Safety - ISO26262 and ASPICE development process. Excellent Organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
