Essential functions (job duties):
The Substance Use Research Team (SURT) within the Wayne State University School of Social Work is seeking a part-time hourly employee to conduct interviews with clients participating in substance use treatment and recovery programs. Interviews with clients start five months after their program intake dates and have a three-month window to be completed with clients. Additionally, the chosen candidate will be responsible for data entry in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) online database.
Schedule and conduct follow-up clinical interviews with clients in substance use treatment/recovery settings and track all progress.
Manually enter data from Qualtrics into SAMHSA’s federal online database, SPARS, and update internal tracking systems.
Perform other related work as assigned.
Qualifications:
An associate's degree and/or relevant clinical work experience of 2+ years
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Microsoft Teams
Proficiency in video conference platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others through work experience
Ability to address sensitive topics with at-risk populations
Ability to establish and meet deadlines, work under pressure and function independently
Customer relations experience
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working as a peer recovery coach. Experience working with individuals in a substance use treatment/recovery setting.

Working conditions:
Currently offering a primarily virtual schedule; some in-office work will be required for training and regular team meetings (5447 Woodward Ave.) Hours are typically worked Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 6 PM. This position requires some flexibility for evening hours to accommodate client schedules. Half-time hours totaling 20 hours per week with benefits.
