Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan Programs Project Manager in Detroit, Michigan
GSSEM's Programs Project Manager is responsible for coordinating people, processes, budgets, and resources to ensure that all projects, programs, and events are not only impactful for girls but are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and with alignment to program scopes. The Project Manager will manage projects and provide project strategies for all program departments.
The Project Manager will work closely with the Chief Program Officer to help establish priorities, launch new programming, and align resources for all programs and events that fall under the Program Department. This includes planning and designating project resources, making strong recommendations regarding action items, monitoring progress, working strategically with funding sources, and keeping all stakeholders informed. The Project Manager will be an essential role from start to implementation for all programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation as well as establishing the project timeline and action items.
- Create long-term and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones within project plans.
- Track the progress and deliverables of each project, including appropriate follow-ups with both internal and external stakeholders for each project.
- Work with Chief Program Officer and Program Directors to develop project scopes, project objectives, and other pieces aligned with the strategic planning memo that is required for all programming (i.e. current state of the work, solutions to foreseen issues, grant management, etc.).
- Coordinate and monitor internal and external resources to ensure that all projects, programs, and events are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Help manage project specific budgets, including monitoring revenue and expenses for each program, initiative, or event.
- Serve as point of contact for teams when working across multiple departments.
- Consistently perform quality control review throughout project timelines to ensure we are on task with deadlines.
- Adjust and pivot timeline, resources, etc. as needed throughout the project.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of events by incorporating feedback pieces into the project plan from the beginning, including the creation of feedback surveys, etc.
- Identify new target audience and will work collaboratively with council departments to meet program goals and objectives.
- Provide project management tools that make sense for each project, program, event, or initiative.
- Create and update standard operating procedures for the Program Team to ensure efficiency.
- Manage the program tracking list to ensure it is up to date with accurate information.
- Approve marketing and communications requests from Program Team before submitting to MarComm for final approval.
- Assist in interviews as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelors Degree with concentration in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Project Management Certification preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years project management and program implementation and/or event planning experience (with degree). Minimum of five (5) years without a degree.
Position Qualifications
This position requires registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., either previously or upon employment.
Experience with budget management. Grant management experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high priority tasks and initiatives at a time.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
