Henry Ford Health System Payroll Specialist II | Detroit, MI | Full Time in Detroit, Michigan

DESCRIPTION:

Under limited supervision, performs various payroll functions including on-line edits and corrections, paycheck preparation, special check requests, termination payments, garnishments and processing of internal adjustments. Responds to complex employee inquiries regarding payroll calculations and deductions, CTO accruals and payroll procedures. Will guide, train and answer questions of Payroll Specialist I and Employee Staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

  • Payroll certification (FPC or CPP) preferred.

  • At least two (2) years of related payroll experience required.

  • Previous hospital experience highly desirable.

  • Extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft and Kronos systems payroll and timekeeping.

  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving/judgment skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Tact and discretion required in regards to security of PeopleSoft and Kronos in addition to exposure to confidential and sensitive information.

  • Excellent organizational skills required in order to maintain documents, records, logs, etc. and track in CRM system.

  • Able to manage self and prioritize workload to maximize efficiencies.

  • Must be able to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments.

  • Team player. Courteous and professional demeanor with excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for dealing with internal and external customers.

  • Participative team member - ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.

  • Exceptional work ethics.
